The State Government has at all times given serious attention to
education development consequently, the provision of free and qualitative education for its citizens has been a major policy thrust. In addition, the resuscitation of abandoned classrooms has also been
a major concern of Government.

Furthermore, in its determination to encourage the development of
technical education, government embarked on the construction of
introduction technology Workshops. A significant number of such workshops with full technical facilities have been completed. In same
vein, secondary schools were supplied with computer sets and power
complements as part of Governments determination to make students
computer literate.

A lot has also been done to improve the standard and quality of
examination in State Public Schools. In this regards, a unified examination system has been introduced.

At the tertiary education level, the State Government has continued to
rise up to the occation with the construction of hostel accommondation at
the Lagos State University. This is a direct measure aimed at solving the
perennial accommondation difficulties encountered by students of the university. At the Lagos State college of Primary Education (LACOPED), Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOLY) and Adeniran
Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED).
Government equally embarked on various renovation and construction
projects, especially, in the area of staff accommodation. Students of
tertiary institution of Lagos origin continued to receive bursary awards and scholarships to ease their parents financial burden, Lagos State
students oversseas also received scholarship awards from the State Government. The State Government also made available first aid boxes
and medications to educational institutions to take care of emergencies.
